Find the light.

In natural light or with flash photography— creating soft, flattering light is the challenge of capturing a person’s essence. It’s an art form born out of necessity. When asked to photograph my interview subjects, I began a quest to find ways of quickly improvising soft light with whatever I had available. The approach and environment may differ from person to person, but the challenge is always the same.
