Every image tells a story.

I’m Michael De Lazzer — a ten-time Emmy Award–winning director, producer, writer, editor, and photographer with a passion for capturing the moments that define people and brands. Through Director’s Garage, I bring cinematic storytelling to every project, blending years of broadcast experience with the artistry of portrait and product photography. Whether you need real estate photos that command attention, video content that moves audiences, or bespoke visuals that elevate your brand, my goal is the same: to create imagery that feels authentic, powerful, and unforgettable.

Welcome to the Director’s Garage — where storytelling meets precision and light.

What I do.

I’m a creator.

From cinematic real estate shoots and professional headshots to branded video production and creative editorial shoots, Director’s Garage Media offers a full range of visual services designed to elevate your story. I produce broadcast-quality videos, social media campaigns, news coverage and commercial content with the same care and precision that have earned national recognition in television. Whether you’re an artist, entrepreneur, or corporation, every project is approached with a director’s eye for storytelling, lighting, and detail. I also offer on-location shoots, studio sessions, and bespoke editing and graphics services — all crafted to help you look, sound, and feel your best on screen and in print.

  • Bring the best to your listing.

  • Smiling woman outdoors with arms outstretched, wearing a green sweater and blue jeans, surrounded by rocks and greenery.

    Present your best image.

  • A large group of people, mostly women and children, gathered outside a building in a rural area. Many women are dressed in colorful traditional clothing and jewelry, including layered beaded necklaces. The scene suggests a community event or gathering.

    Capture the emotion.

  • Tell the story.

Technique.

Why settle?

My portrait photography led me to develop ways of lighting subjects quickly while on location, but still produce studio quality results. When I moved into the real estate space, I brought my years of experience lighting people into homes. Notice how the colors pop, yet the natural shadows remain. The result are images that stand apart from other listings.

Anywhere You Want To Go.

I offer complete directing and field producing services for projects of any scale. My specialty lies in building and managing complex, multi-camera productions on location. Over the years, I’ve engineered mobile video rigs for national press tours, captured red carpets from the Oscars to Royal weddings, and covered breaking stories from natural disasters to humanitarian missions.

From shooting a seven-camera rooftop interview at Capitol Records with Katy Perry—complete with helicopter and jib—to filming human rights stories in remote villages of Kenya and Rwanda without electricity or running water, I bring both technical mastery and journalistic instinct to every production. Most recently, I directed, shot, and designed graphics for a four-camera special in Hawaii, with segments featured on Entertainment Tonight.

If We Build It…

I have designed and lit podcast studios, selected cameras and lenses, then wired the room for sound and video. I can make a small room look large on camera, creating depth and rich texture. I’ve been hired to oversee show production and recording, and to move the content through editing and I was hired by the CW Network to engineer a multi-camera international press tour over zoom.

The Magic Happens in the Edit.

Editing takes many forms.

Editing is where vision becomes story. Whether I’m refining a photograph, shaping a film sequence, crafting copy, or designing motion graphics, my goal is the same — to give raw material context, rhythm, and emotional resonance. With decades of experience in broadcast television and digital media, I approach every project as both an artist and a storyteller, weaving together image, sound, and language into a cohesive narrative. Great editing doesn’t just polish — it reveals meaning, draws connection, and transforms the ordinary into something unforgettable.

I edited my first show in 1986 for PBS on tape. I was at the forefront of nonlinear video editing, and implemented many of the features editors use today. I was selected for Avid’s Master Editor program, and I was invited back to teach at that elite seminar. I’ve stayed on the edge of current technology and software and graphics creation. If you can dream it, I can create it. I’ve cut shows and created graphics for prime time television and YouTube alike, and maintain a full-service edit bay for video and photography.

Exceed expectations.
